The Chelsea Creek Boat Tour
Dress for the weather! Wear comfortable layers—a light jacket is wise for breezy harbor conditions. Closed-toe shoes with grip are best for boat safety. Don’t forget sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat for sun protection. Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.
The 90-minute tour blends history, nature and activism. Expect lively storytelling about the 1775 Battle of Chelsea Creek, where colonists seized a British warship. Guides will point out key sites along the creek, Mystic River and Boston Harbor while discussing their ecological challenges. You’ll pass industrial remnants, restored wetlands, and working waterfronts.
The boat is covered but open-sided, offering unobstructed views. Limited seating is available—arrive early to snag a spot. Partners like GreenRoots and the National Park Service will share insights on local conservation efforts. After docking, explore Chelsea’s waterfront and nearby eateries. Rain or shine, this unique adventure reveals hidden layers of Revolutionary and environmental history!
