Wickford in the American Revolution: A Walking Tour with Tim Cranston

June 11 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join Town Historian Tim Cranston for a walk through history in Wickford. Learn of the people and places of North Kingstown that played a role in the American Revolution.

We don’t usually think of the Revolution happening in Wickford, but it did! British soldiers were stationed across the Bay in Newport. The area teemed with with supporters of both sides – the crown and colonial independence. This made for interesting times! The tour will walk by several homes owned by Patriots and Tories, and Tim will share many interesting, true stories of courage, bravery and rebellion.
