On Sunday, May 18, 2025, step back in time in South Glastonbury, Conn. From 10:00 a.m.to 3:00 p.m., the Welles-Shipman-Ward House at 972 Main Street will host Revolutionary: House, Muster, and Colonial Faire.
Tour the 1755 Connecticut River mansion and its historic barns. Watch the Ye Olde Lebanon Towne Militia drill and fire muskets. Kids can join in drills and games, including 18th-century soccer.
The Colonial Faire
See live demonstrations by an armorer and a colonial surgeon. Learn about unsung heroes of the Revolution. Enjoy fife and drum music, country dancing and actor portrayals.
The colonial fair will feature merchants, crafters, and hands-on activities. Reenactors will include Big Bear Trading Post, colonial woodworker Rick Liegl and Muckquishium Manitoo, an 18th-century Indigenous trader.
Admission is $10 for anyone 10 and older.

The Colonial Faire & Muster will include demonstrations of loom work, embroidery, basket weaving, leatherwork, woodworking, chocolate making and tabletop games. It will also feature law, crim and punishment; beekeeping; letter writing; toys, games and races; flute and fiddle music, barn tours; armorer; rifleman; surgeon; vendor booths; outdoor displays. New this year: privateer shipbuilding and races.
